  The British Brown Bear Commission

The British Brown Bear Commission are carrying out a series of experiments in this area, in an attempt to re-introduce Brown Bears into a natural habitat in the Highlands of Scotland.

Brown Bears are harmless, providing they are not endangered. As part of this experiment, a breeding pair of bears have been released, under BBBC control, in this area.

Members of the public are requested not to approach, or attempt to feed the bears. They are being fed at specific locations by the BBBC. Please keep all food out of reach of the bears as they will attempt to steal it.

Please hang your food at least 2.4m from the ground wherever possible.

Any sightings of these bears should be reported at your earliest opportunity to the nearest YHA ,Club ,Site or Bunkhouse Warden, they will pass information to the BBBC in their field location. In event of a sighting, please ensure that you specify the area and if possible give an eight figure Grid Reference.

Thank you for your co-operation in this experiment. All of the bears will be returned to captivity on completion of the experiment.

Please do not feed the bears
