Kinlochewe and the Torridon area is situated within the recently formed Wester-Ross National Scenic Area approximately

50 miles west of Inverness on the A832 Garve to Gairloch road, amidst the magnificent scenery of the Torridon Hills ,

Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, bordered by the picturesque Loch Maree and the spectacularly scenic

Glens Docharty and Torridon and to the south the shoreline villages from Fasaig to Diabaig on Loch Torridon .

The area is ideally situated for both loch and sea fishing, climbing, hill walking , ( Slioch , Beinn Eighe , Liathach , Ben Alligin

and many other Munros ), a quite relaxing holiday birdwatching or just simply taking it easy. This is the perfect base for anyone

wishing to explore the north west Highlands and the Isle of Skye

P ublic transport is available daily by train from Kyle or Inverness to Achnasheen and by bus on Tuesdays,Thursdays and Fridays

from Gairloch and Inverness. The postbus meets the lunchtime train, Monday-Saturday, for onward journeys to Kinlochewe.

H oliday Accommodation includes B&B and Self Catering, hotels at Loch Maree and Achnasheen.

T he Bank of Scotland and Butcher are in Gairloch. There is also a nine hole golf course in Gairloch. The travelling bank comes to Kinlochewe/Torridon every Tuesday morning with the Butcher's van coming on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
